About

Lyra Alves was born in Brazil, where she graduated in Traditional Chinese Medicine and phytotherapy. Her passion for the healing arts inevitably led her to deepen her knowledge of plant-based nutrition. In 2000, she moved to Belgium to help co-found Eva vzw, now known as ProVeg Belgium. She was responsible for all nutrition, health-related, and culinary content on the website and in printed publications. She has been involved with plant-based cuisine for more than 30 years. The love for herbs, plants and culinary practices from around the world is evident in her cooking. 



Cooking with plant-based ingredients is, for Lyra, a great opportunity to allow all the ingredients to move away from their role as “side-dish” and become the real stars at the table. For 13 years, Lyra has worked with people from various cultural backgrounds, further broadening her experience with world cuisine.
